Renter and driver must be at least 25 years old for all car groups

Driver’s License

Drivers are required to produce a full driving license held for at least two years. Additionally, a valid Passport or
ID card has to be presented at the pick-up of the vehicle.Non-EU travelers will be required to hold an International Driving Permit (IDP) together with a valid national driver’s license.
It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving license; no refund is given for
rentals rejected due to non-production of a valid driving license. Facsimiles/photocopies/photos of licenses are not
acceptable.

Out of hour charges
The possibility of getting a car out of normal working hours is possible however, an additional
charge for “out of hour” service may apply.
During the booking procedure you will be able to see the details.
In case the car pick-up to falls outside normal working hours due to a flight/ferry delay or for any other reason,
the additional fee is charged locally.

Additional Driver
Additional driver will be charged at € 2,00 – €4,00 depending the rental period per day.

Baby Seats
Baby seats are available upon request, charged at € 2,00- € 4,00 depending the rental period per day.Due to insurance rules you are required to fit the child seat by yourself.

Car type/suitability
Although skiathoscheapcarhire.com makes every effort in order to reserve a specific type of vehicle, we are unable
to guarantee a particular make, model or colour of car. Reservations are confirmed based on the vehicle category
and not on the car model. The cars named in the web page are shown suggestively for the size and the
performance of each vehicle category.
skiathoscheapcarhire.com reserves the right of providing a vehicle of higher category in case the vehicle
category booked is not available.

Fuel
Fuel is not included in the rates. Fuel level > same to same.

Number of passengers
Please check the car specifications into online booking, as skiathoscheapcarhire.com cannot accept
responsibility in case the vehicle booked is not large enough to fit all passengers and luggage on arrival.

Period of Rental
Rental days are calculated on a 24-hour basis, starting at the time shown on the voucher. The customer is entitled to return the vehicle for up to 1 hour after the agreed return time without any additional charge. After one hour and more we charge 1 day rental.
Changes made in the time of return after the rental start should be handled by skiathoscheapcarhire.com
In case of a flight delayed -etc.- skiathoscheapcarhire.com allows a change in the time of delivery of up to 1
hour, meaning that your rental period starts counting 1 hour later than on the reservation. There will be no
extra charge for this except in the case of the “out of hour” charge applies.

Liability
skiathoscheapcarhire.com assumes no liability for actual rentals that do not take place due to reasons for which
the hirer is responsible.
Such reasons are for example:
failure to present a driver’s license or presenting a driver’s license which is no longer valid.
failure to present a valid passport or identification card.
failure to present a valid credit card or if there is a lack of sufficient funds available.
non-compliance to the regulations regarding the minimum or maximum age.

Ferrying the rented car

You should always inform the car rental company when taking a car on a ferry to Skiathos, Skopelos or Alonissos island.An additional
charge for “ferry insurance” service may apply.

Credit, Debit & Prepaid Cards
Renter must show a personal credit or debit card at the time of the rental even if the renter pays in cash.

Possibility of payment through all major credit & debit cards for transactions.

Cards must be in the drivers name.

Guarantee Deposit
A preauthorization amount, depending on the vehicle rented, will be committed to the renter’s credit or debid card upon the pick – up of the vehicle. The same amount as such will be refunded at the end of the rental, provided that no other charges arise.

Our company will not be responsible for any complications concerning the available balance of the customers account, returned checks or additional bank fees associated with this process.

If a valid credit card is not presented or if there is a lack of sufficient funds available to it at the time of pick-up, skiathoscheapcarhire.com has the right to refuse delivery of the vehicle. In these cases, any prepaid funds are not refunded.

Cancellations/Modifications

In case of a cancellation the prepayment is not refundable. In case the flight / holiday is cancelled because of covid-19 the customer can receive a voucher for future use.

 

Modifications

after the starting of the rental period modifications are handled by skiathoscheapcarhire.com 

 

No refund is made for no-shows at the destination, failure to produce the appropriate documentation, early returns or cancellations after the rental start date.  No refund is made for any unused days.

Insurance

  • Third party insurance, covering third person against property damages and body injuries.
  • CDW (Collision Damage Waiver). Collision damage waiver insurance means that rented vehicle is insured towards collision damages (material damages) also caused by the renter, but with an excess amount to pay.
    The excess amount for collision is:

a. 850.00€ plus VAT  for Car Categories Mini & Standard

b. 950.00€ plus VAT for Car Categories Full size & Jeep 4WD

c.1100.00€ plus VAT  for Car Category SUV 4WD

Full insurance (F.D.W) OPTIONAL

a. 484.00€ plus VAT  for Car Categories Mini & Standard

b. 726.00€ plus VAT for Car Categories Full size & Jeep 4WD

c.900.00€ plus VAT  for Car Category SUV 4WD

  • Fire insurance
  • Theft insurance

 

No insurance coverage shall apply to:

  • The rental car is driven on non-paved roads (excluding 4WD vehicles).
  • Damages caused to tires, windscreen, windows or the lower part of the car.
  • Damages or theft of personal belongings while kept in the car.
  • Any incident inside the car during transport by ship or any other means.
  • Any incident while the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Accidents caused when the driver has not been declared in the rental contract.
  • Damages cause during  off-haul, towing, refueling errors, or others caused intentionally or negligently, invalidate any insurance cover and violate the general terms of the lease.
  • Damage caused by natural disasters is automatically considered negligence as of the driver is obliged to protect and keep the vehicle in a secure parking area.

All rental cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers. For your safety this number should not be exceeded and in case this number is exceeded the insurance will be invalidated.

Please make sure the car you book is big enough for your needs.

Additional Explanations:

  • All insurances are valid only for the island of Skiathos.
  • All traffic fines are paid by the renter.
  • Damaged or lost car key is paid for by the renter.
  • Discount for cash payment is 15%
